APAA invites its members and partners to attend
The International Organization for Mediation (IOMed), the world’s first treaty-based inter-governmental legal organization dedicated to resolving international disputes through mediation, headquartered in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), will host the inaugural session of its IOMed Global Series on 24 September 2026, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm (Hong Kong SAR time), in the form of a Fireside Chat entitled “The Journey to Peace & Prosperity Through Dialogue.”
The session will be moderated by Prof. Teresa Cheng SC, Secretary-General of IOMed. Speakers Mr. Paul Lam SC and Mr. Rimsky Yuen SC will share untold stories and background on the development of the policies and legislation that supported mediation over the years, including the support given to the establishment of IOMed.

Moderator — Prof. Teresa Cheng SC : Secretary-General of IOMed; former Secretary for Justice of HKSAR (2018–2022).
Speaker — Mr. Paul Lam SC : Secretary for Justice of HKSAR (in office since 2022).
Speaker — Mr. Rimsky Yuen SC : Mediator on the IOMed General Panel of Mediators designated by China; former Secretary for Justice of HKSAR (2012–2018).
The event highlights how Hong Kong’s journey demonstrates that mediation — with dialogue as one of its core attributes — can offer a viable and realistic alternative for the peaceful settlement of disputes, contributing to peace and prosperity in today’s challenging world.
